The very lovely Sarah and Richard from Styal Lodge were hosting their first family occasion since it’s opening and brought me in to shoot some stuff at the beginning of the evening.
It was their daughter, Franny’s, 21st so it was the full friends and family in attendance to celebrate with her. And they certainly celebrated in style, with an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed ‘Mad Hatters’ party! Simple – everyone had to wear a hat! Great idea and there were some absolute belters!

I absolutely adore Styal Lodge as a venue and can’t wait for my first wedding there in April. One of the nicest things about it is that it’s family run. Sarah, Richard and Georgina genuinely care about every little detail of their brides and grooms day and you know that they will go completely out of their way to make sure every single wedding there is absolutely perfect.
They’re so proud of it as a venue and it really shows. They’ve thought of everything to make it every bride’s dream venue, from the fact that it is essentially a blank canvas for brides and grooms to put their own stamp on it, to all the little details, like the ipod dock in the wedding sitting room, so that brides getting ready there in the morning can have on exactly what music they want!
And they’re not resting there either. I popped in the other day and Richard couldn’t wait to show me a new set of laser lights that he’d just installed as part of their lighting rig and sound system. A dj can come in and set his own stuff up, or connect to their state of the art system and have full control of it. I get the feeling that Styal Lodge will never cease evolving and getting better – the guys there are just so motivated to making sure it really is one of the top venues in the UK.
2010 is their first official year of weddings and they’re pretty much booked up already with 2011 dates going fast, so I urge you to get in touch asap if you like the idea of having such a unique venue for your wedding day.
