I’ve just finished up Steph & James’s post-wedding shoot images which I’ll be delivering to them today – so it felt like a good time to share my favourites from their truly special day. This was the most splendidly intimate wedding I’ve had the pleasure to be involved in this year – a spectacular venue, less than 30 guests (plus me!) the loveliest staff you could wish to meet at a venue – and the most creative and inspiring couple to work with – what more can you ask for?
Steph’s a designer so I knew that every last detail would be so important to her on her wedding day – we had also had numerous conversations about the venue, locations, post-wedding shoots – so I knew that these guys were seriously up for capturing and creating some very special images across the whole of their weekend – so much so, that I even stayed the night of the wedding and shot even more stuff with Steph & James the next day! So let’s get into it…!!!
Ellingham Hall was Steph & James’s for the weekend. All their guests had arrived the day before and immediate family were staying for another day afterwards – a real weekend long celebration! I arrived in the morning and met Steph and the girls in her room…
I popped downstairs to see how the lads were getting on with their bowties…

It was a beautiful, crisp autumnal day – Steph & James picked their weekend very wisely – less than two weeks after their wedding the whole of Northumberland came to a stand still as the snow arrived!

Steph & James had handpicked specific titles of Penguin books as favours for each and every guest – perfect!
The cheese cake made to look like a cake! Steph’s Mum had devised the cover to put over the wheels of cheese – love it!
James’s brother, the extraordinarily talented Phil, had composed a piece of music just for Steph & James and performed it just before the wedding breakfast…

Ellingham Hall is just spectacular! And Steph just looked amazing!

And then back inside to the warmth of the open fires and the first dance…
