I’ve been neglecting the blog when it comes to posting full weddings recently, wedding season is still in full swing, so it’s been difficult to find the time, but I’ve wanted to get this particular wedding live for a couple of weeks now as it is a particularly special one to me. You’ll remember the sneak preview of Lindsey & Rick’s day a good few weeks back now – but let me tell you, this is worth the wait!
Linz & Rick were married at The Swan at Newby Bridge in the Lake District (what a venue that is by the way!) Rick and I have been friends for 15 years now and Emma and I have been very good friends as couples with Rick & Linz for the past couple of years so it was a real honour to shoot their very special day. I actually had a wedding on the Saturday as well as theirs on the Friday, so unfortunately I didn’t get to celebrate with them into the small hours, but we’re already planning on catching up with that very soon!
Linz and Rick were being married and having their reception at The Swan, so with everything under the same roof, it meant I could really get around, in the morning especially, without missing anything.
So, let us begin…!!!
What a beautiful day…
Lindsey’s beautiful bouquet had her Dad’s wedding ring tied to it – what a gorgeous, sentimental touch…
A quick catch up to see how the boys were getting on…
And time for Lindsey to make her way through The Swan to be married…
Best man, Mike, looking pensive…
Rick too….
It was such a beautiful, personal ceremony and the room Lindsey & Rick were married in is just spectacular…
Lindsey & Rick’s Mum’s, Jen & Lorraine looked beautiful on such an emotional occassion…
This was the worst the weather got all day…!!!
I love these bridal party shots…
Mike, just going over his notes…
The speeches were truly magnificent! They had the lot, tears, laughter, genuine emotion – what more could you want?!?!
I managed to sneak in on the act when I was invited up to receive a gift that Linz & Rick had so kindly bought me…!!!
The most nervous man in the room rose to the challenge and delivered a quite superb best mans speech! Which I have to admit made me feel quite old, as there were quite a few tales from years gone by… It does make you realise what a huge part your friends have played in your life and how much you’ve all been through together – great work Michael!!!
After the speeches I spent a few minutes with Rick & Linz shooting some gorgeous moments around the venue…
First dance time! Beautiful ceiling hey? (You don’t often here that outside the Sistine chapel!)
What a truly amazing day – Lindsey & Rick, it was brilliant shooting your special day, all the very best for the future!
