This is a little bit more of a sneak preview than I usually do…because it was my sister’s wedding on Saturday! What a truly amazing weekend. Up ladders with my Dad fastening up bunting on Friday afternoon, a gorgeous champagne dinner with some of our extended family on Friday evening, the most amazing wedding ever on Saturday, lunch (and then Pimms!) in the garden in the glorious sunshine yesterday with the family and then finally, we bid farewell to Kate & Ant this morning and sneaked in a post-wedding weekend breakfast at one of our favourite spots with Mum and Dad and my youngest sister Clare (before she heads off to Ibiza tomorrow to work until October! Boooooo!)
So just a quick sneak preview (!) for the family to enjoy and for Kate & Ant to check out from Zurich, Switzerland, where they arrived today. They’re doing a mini tour of Switzerland which will be fab, so I’m hoping they can get hold of a computer while they’re there and check out this post, starting in the garden of Mum and Dad’s with a shot of Kate’s beautiful gown from the very lovely Michelle at Timeless Bride in Poynton. Kate wanted to keep her wedding as ‘local’ as possible which will become apparent the further down you read, which is a lovely way to organise a wedding. So here we go…
All the flowers were from another awesome Poynton business – Green Earth Flowers. Laura did a spectacular job with the bouquets, button holes and arrangements!
Kate likes her shoes…and I LOVED this pair from Irregular Choice in London!
Beautiful! And what a job Emma Draper Make Up Artist did with Kate, the bridesmaids and my Mum! And herself!
Here comes the bride in the best transport ever! My Aunty’s bus! (Yes, my Aunty and Uncle have a coach hire company!)
Love this!
This is gorgeous – my sister Clare sang during the offertery procession and you can see the effect it had…
I had to throw a family one in! (big thanks to my cousin Jeff for stepping in to pull the trigger!)
From the minute Kate said that she wanted to get married as ‘locally’ as possible we talked about this shot. Walking from the church, to The Tarantella (the amazing Italian restaurant that we’ve been going to since we were kids) for the reception, we cut straight down the middle of Park Lane in Poynton and literally stopped the traffic!
As all the guests were making their way into The Tarantella, we sneaked a coffee at the deli on Park Lane – another regular haunt that we all go to and sit outside regardless of the weather!
The bridal party! (I love the lounge bar at The Tarantella! And another thank you for Jeff for pulling the trigger!)
Gin Kate???
Something a little less lairy…
The evening reception was at Poynton Community Centre – check out that bunting! (Well done to my Mum and my Aunty V who made it!)
The first dance…
And the last dance…what a way to finish! My cousin Graeme throwing the best man, Nick round like a rag doll! Love Kate and Ant’s reaction!
So there we have it – a bit more of a sneak preview than normal, but hopefully it’ll keep my Mum happy!
Kate & Ant – congratulations, we love you loads and we hope you have the best time ever in Switzerland. See you when you get back!
