I spent three nights last week with my wonderful friends from Flower Design at their Christmas themed supper clubs at the gorgeous Number One South Beach boutique hotel in Blackpool.
Flower Design run a series of supper clubs through the winter, themed to match the time of year. On arrival, guests are treated to a champagne reception whilst a live singer adds to the ambience (the truly magnificent Paul Guard appeared on tuesday evening and the wonderfully talented Nicola Howard was singing on wednesday and thursday evening)
Guests are then invited through to the dining room where they are treated to a fantastic four course meal, with an amazing flower demonstration in between each course by the fabulously creative and talented owner of Flower Design and my very good friend, Jane Thompson. This series of supper clubs then culminated in a grand ‘reveal’ of each of the arrangements all together as part of an amazingly presented Christmas table.
The restaurant looked amazing…
Each guest received a beautiful buttonhole…
Yvette from Yvettex handcrafted jewellery brought along some of her gorgeous bespoke pieces – and sold quite a few as well!
Jane’s demonstrations are always great fun!
As much as I love Jane’s flowers and her fabulous creations, I’m really terrible at remembering the names of all the flowers she uses and the reasons why – so do have a look at her blog for a far better explanation of things than I could possibly offer! Flower Design Blog here
The incredible Paul Guard provided the entertainment on tuesday’s supper club…
Nicola Howard, soprano solo artist, sang for the guests on wednesday and thursday evening…
Chef and owner of Number One, Mark Smith and the very lovely Jessica Scott, events and bridal coordinator at Flower Design…
Jane’s amazing demonstrations complete!
The big reveal! Each night, the table was dressed with all the flowers Jane had demonstrated throughout the evening and guests were shown the table to give them inspiration in the run up to organising their own Christmas Day!
Thanks for having me along Jane and Jason – three great nights as always and I can’t wait for the next ones!
