This is why I love my job. A gorgeous couple, that by the time I leave their wedding in the evening, it feels like I’m leaving friends rather than clients. An amazing venue, spectacular gown and accessories, beautiful ceremony, amazing venue staff, friends and family that feel like my own by the time I leave – what more could you want from a day’s work?!?!
I felt I connected with Claire and Andrew straight away when we met such a long time ago at Great John Street Hotel in Manchester to talk about their big day. They really knew how they wanted their day to run, they were both equally enthusiastic about all aspects of their day and the details and they were both seriously committed to great photography on their day. They wanted a real blend of reportage, family images, details and once we’d shot their pre-wedding shoot – they realised they weren’t scared of throwing themselves into producing some seriously cool images of themselves too!
I started the day off meeting up with the girls at the fabulous Mitton Hall in Lancashire…
Claire’s awesome Ian Stuart gown from One and Only in Preston (I love that store!!!)
I still love shoes and flowers…!!!
Isn’t it the most spectacular venue? I grabbed this shot as Claire made her way down from her room – it’s so atmospheric, I just love it.
The surprise Beetle! Claire and Andrew had booked a drop top Beetle as their wedding car and nobody else knew, so it was a great little surprise when Claire arrived in it!
Andrew and his best men were very relaxed…
The very lovely and gorgeous Joanne Kerr from Dan Kerr Brides and One and Only Bridal Couture…
Claire and Andrew had wanted to grab an image that really showed off the part of the world they were married in before we headed back to Mitton Hall. I had a quick drive around in the morning before I arrived and found this spot…so we gave Claire a leg up over the gate into the farmers field (alright, we opened the gate and walked through…) and stole this fabulous image…
The Beetle, the venue and our gorgeous bride and groom…
Selfless doesn’t come close to describing this wedding present! Claire had bought a hot air balloon trip for her and Andrew on honeymoon because it was something he so desperately wanted to do. Claire, however is terrified of heights…now that’s love…
Speech time!
After the speeches, Claire, Andrew and I sneaked off for 5 minutes to shoot some amazing images of just the two of them – how good do they look?!?!
First dance!
Congratulations once again Claire & Andrew, it was such a fabulous day and you two were the reason we got so many amazing images – it was amazing working with you!
