20 something weddings shot so far in 2011 and Catherine and Will’s was the first where weather played a significant part in the day. But, like all GREAT weddings, it didn’t matter. They were surrounded by family and friends, the church they were getting married in was absolutely beautiful and they were prepared to ‘play things by ear’ a little bit on the day, which is so important when it comes to getting those shots that they’ve dreamed of.
It’s important for me to have a really good, trusting relationship with my clients, so that we can make calls on the day as to when and where we’re going to do things. We knew we would struggle to get the most out of the outside of the venue when we got back there from church because it was so wet, so we simply decided that we would shoot Catherine & Will’s portraits (and some cool stuff with their bridesmaids!) after the speeches before the evening reception started. And hope that the weather had turned for the better…(it did – we even got some blue sky!)
So here’s a little preview for Catherine & Will as they head off on honeymoon…
I think everyone knows what’s going on in this sequence of shots… (Catherine’s Dad hadn’t turned his phone off….and of course it rang!!!)
Married! Woo!
The speeches had everything! Tears, laughter, references to mobile phones…!!!
It was definitely worth holding off on some of the shots until after the speeches…
Congratulations Catherine & Will!
