This wedding has been a long time coming! It actually feels like I’ve known Alexis & Adam for a long, long time now (that’s a good thing by the way!) and their amazing day finally arrived yesterday! I actually can’t remember how long ago it is since I first spoke to Alexis but I remember the first time we met in person was January 2010, so getting on a while back now! Since then we’ve done their pre-wedding shoot (nearly a year ahead of their day because of Adam relocating to the US for work) been out for dinners, I’ve used Alexis as a bridal model (talk about putting pressure on myself!) we’ve met up at wedding events – it’s got to the point where they’re not just clients, but friends. And I’ll miss them when they fly out to the States on Thursday to start their new life together out there…
I always knew this was going to be something very special. Alexis ‘does’ art. (She’s a teacher) They’re very creative as a couple and we’ve never stopped talking about ideas in the build up to their day. Also involved were my great friends at Flower Design, Specialized Cakes, Paul Guard and of course, Dave and all the team at Mitton Hall. So it was always going to be awesome.
I was also lucky enough to have my very good friend and truly amazing photographer, Sam Clayton, shooting with me yesterday which was a real treat. She got some amazing images and will be releasing a little sneak preview on her blog tomorrow…
So, as promised Ali & Adam – here’s a little look at your very special day…starting with the boys in the morning…
I then popped round to Ali’s Mum & Dad’s to see how they were all getting on…
The gorgeous and amazing Eve Broadhurst was Alexis’s hairdresser. And all the bridesmaids. And the flower girl. She had a busy morning!
Eve also handily works at The White Closet so was on hand to make sure that Alexis was fitted into her beautiful dress perfectly…
The ceremony took place at St Anne’s Church in Singleton…
And then over to Mitton Hall to enjoy drinks on the terrace – and an ‘adventure’ for the bridal party (nobody said it would be easy!)
Wherever Alexis & Adam travel in the world, they have a ‘jumping’ shot. So we had to do one yesterday. It’s their thing! Their ‘signature image’ if you like. We even managed to get most of the bridal party off the ground! (“Is it 1, 2, 3 Jump? Or 1, 2, 3 and jump on 3??!!?!?”)
The details were just phenomenal (watch out for a few more on Sam’s blog tomorrow) – LOVE that there were images from the pre-wedding shoot which feels so long ago now…
How’s this for unique and properly creative. Flower Design & Specialized Cakes had joined forces to create these amazing centre pieces which also doubled as favours….stunning…
Pint of Searsy? Don’t mind if I do!
The inimitable Paul Guard really got the party going during the wedding breakfast…
And just before the evening reception started, we had time for a quick sneak off to shoot some gorgeous images just of Alexis & Adam…
First dance!
And the last shot of the evening – love that inky blue sky…
Congratulations Ali & Adam. It’s been amazing. I’ve loved every second of working with you guys and we can’t wait to see you in Chicago next year!!!
